Appellate

When a trial judge enters a final judgment in a family law case or when a person is convicted in a criminal case, it is important to understand that this is not the end. In Florida, final judgments and convictions are appealable for thirty days following the rendering of the judgment or conviction. Even then, exceptions and other avenues may be available. It is critical to contact an experienced attorney to traverse the complexities of appellate procedure.

James M. Burns has successfully handled many appellate cases before the Alabama Court of Appeals, Florida District Court of Appeals, and the Federal Court of Appeals. To have Mr. Burns review your file to see if you are eligible for an appeal or other remedies, please call (850) 457-6002 or email jimburnsfllaw@gmail.com
